Cellar Conversion

With cellars and basements that are below ground, there is always a risk of water penetrating through the walls and/or the floor. In an un-converted cellar, this normally evaporates and only occasionally is there any evidence of water present. As soon as it is used for a room, however, moisture spoils furnishings and even stored boxes.

Tanking is a means of ensuring that this moisture does not enter through the walls or the floor into the internal environment, and when coupled with proper heating and ventilating, a "dry" room can be created.

Dampness below ground, is treated by one of our tanking systems, either a solid cementitious system applied to sound clean brick walls, or by an air-gap membrane system which can be applied over more or less any surface including the installation of a sump and pump.

All our works are carried out to meet the requirements of British Standard 8102 for Structural Waterproofing, using proprietary systems. Tanking works are covered by a ten year Guarantee and an insurance Guarantee option is also available. Real peace of mind, for what often amounts to a significant investment.

Many people use these areas for studies, teenagers' dens, or even guest rooms. Have a look at some photographs of recent works, and see what can be achieved.

About Us   Did You Know?   Contact Us Contact Us
Established since 1989, we are a specialist Damp and Timber company, setup to help home buyers and owners in identifying and rectifying potential damp or timber problems in their property.   There are two main types of fungi which cause decay in timbers, Dry Rot and Wet Rot. Both require timber to become wet and to remain wet for some time. Therefore keeping the property dry is the first line of defence against fungal attack.   RegencyHDT
